![]() Not only that, but for a kids film it teaches you that you can pretty much be a brat, do what you want, and you’ll get your way. She started as a bratty child who had everyone under her thumb, and ends in the same spot just in a different location. But also because it doesn’t show any growth with Earwig. Partly because of the time jump and how out of field it seems. This film has potential, there’s opportunity for a really meaningful film there, but he absolutely fails to realize it and it shows. And I have to say, I think Goro is just a bad director. ![]() The story is just bad on so many different levels it’s hard to describe them all. It’s pretty bad when the outdated CGI is the best part. □ so it would be nice if people weren't so critical of someone's work they worked really hard on what they do !ĭefinitely the worst Studio Ghibli film I’ve seen. His son is not trying to replicate the same work he's trying to find his own and I'm sure his Dad understand that. I don't think Hayao Miyazaki is a shame of any of his sons movies. Overall i enjoyed the movie after looking into all the little things! And just like any Ghibli movie the rest is up to you!Īlthough we do get nice little pictures on the credits showing us how life with them continue. That would also explain why Bella was surprised that Aya could use magic, maybe she assumed she was born without any magic. I'm assuming he was probably just a human who fell in love with the main singer and that is the reason that 12 witches were upset with her, for having a child with a non-magic user. That's probably with the exception of Custard he was a little too afraid of things, I think that's the reason she like to spend so much time around him because it was a challenge to convince him.Īs for her father during the flashbacks there was a second guitarist he had brown hair (like Aya's) but we didn't see a face nor we see him in any of the other pictures, just at the concert. In other words she has the ability to get in your brain and get you to do whatever she wants, which she did to everyone during the movie. The earwig gets its skin-crawling name from long-standing myths claiming the insect can climb inside a person's ear and either live there or feed on their brain. Out of pure assumption I think they just waited to find Aya after her mom abandoned them, in hopes that her mom will come back for her.īut Aya ended up making them happy once again, a true family.Īyatsuru's name means manipulation and I'm assuming that is her magic power which is why that never changed throughout the movie.Īyatsuru is her actual name not Earwig but at lot changed in translation. I also notice the red worms at the beginning come from her red hair, later on we see Bella do it with her own hair and that's why the worms were blue. So they probably did know who Aya was when they adopted her. ![]() ![]() I noticed the the yellow car at the beginning that was following Aya's Mom was actually the yellow car own by the band. I understand why everybody seems to be upset about the ending, but you have to understand the actual writer of the book passed away before she got to even make a second part of this story. I definitely enjoyed it in Japanese better than in English dub, because by being CGI you can really tell the lip syncing. I am not a big fan of the CGI but it was not horrible.
